CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO GET THE FULL EFFECT OF THE ANIMATION… and “HAPPY HALLOWEEN” everyone. I’m not sure if I’m castigating the subject a little too much (editorially that is) but the jokes are still valid and at this point it’s more about the art, the form of expression and the neat effect it seems to have. Meaning that there’s something creatively honest about how this format forces the artistic expression and how it comes together into a thing of its own. There’s the primal magic on hand drawings and there’s the humor of course… and like in the traditional political cartoon in newspaper and magazines. The intention by design is that the humor is in the graphic and that the graphic itself is the punch line… and the same thing if there’s (limited) animation, sound or interactivity involved. The text is there to set it up and to emphasize it all. The idea is to get an effect and/or a reaction, all quick and in one pass. 

What’s most interesting to me is how the “political cartoon” comes together and alive in this blog-html world- format and how it relates to a short attention span, glued to a computer monitor generation (including myself).
